Participation in research

For our thesis project, we are looking for employee-manager pairs to participate in a short survey.

Both the employee and their direct manager will be asked to complete a questionnaire (taking less than 10 minutes) at two different points in time. The surveys will be sent via email, with the first round taking place in mid-March and the second one six weeks later. All responses will be processed completely anonymously through LimeSurvey.

To keep the study design straightforward, we will only survey one employee per manager. This avoids the complexity of a multilevel study, where clustered or correlated data would require more extensive statistical processing. However, this approach does mean that fewer total data points will be collected.

If you could share this page also with other potential participants, we would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you in advance for your support!

The study is titled “The challenges of managing employee performance in the age of sustainability: exploring supervisor challenges”.
    In short:
Organizations are increasingly focused on promoting the well-being and environmental behavior of their employees, in addition to their productivity. This shift has led to a significant change in the scope and nature of performance management, which now also focuses on sustainability performance. Although performance management is widely recognized as an effective method for achieving organizational goals, it is uncertain whether it can also be used to achieve broader sustainability goals. This quest could create a paradox for managers, who must simultaneously optimize productivity, employee well-being, and their environmental footprint. Moreover, striving to achieve social and environmental goals is a challenging task for managers, who must balance these responsibilities with their other organizational tasks.
